We are interested in nano-materials of a wide variety of substances (metals, ceramics, semiconductors, and polymers) in a wide range of form (particle, dot, thin film, wire, tube, template, and composite) prepared via a number of different routes (reverse micelle, electrochemical deposition, chemical vapor deposition, sol-gel, and precipitation) for potential applications in photonic crystals, optoelectronics, conductive polymer composites, and catalysts.
■ Transport Phenomena in Heterogeneous Systems
We study the transport phenomena occurring in heterogeneous systems, such as the effective conductivity of composite materials, the hydrodynamic and thermophoretic behavior of aerosol particles, and the overall rate constant of diffuse-and-incorporate systems (e.g., ligand-receptor binding).
